How It Works

  • Step 1 — Discovery: We talk through your active builds, marketing needs, and timeline. For ongoing work, I’ll recommend visits that match your construction schedule.
  • Step 2 — Site Setup: For recurring work, I document a consistent shot list on the first visit so every subsequent visit produces comparable, side-by-side imagery.
  • Step 3 — Visits: I arrive on schedule, capture ground and aerial coverage, and stay clear of active work areas. PPE compliant and site-safety aware. Drone liability insurance certificates available on request for builders who require additional insured coverage.
  • Step 4 — Delivery: Edited photos delivered via Google Drive within 3 business days of each visit. Video deliverables on the timeline agreed at booking.
  • Step 5 — Invoicing: Single visits are invoiced after delivery. Retainers are billed monthly. Project reels and time-lapse work are billed 50% at booking, 50% on delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Can you photograph an active site safely?
    • Yes. I follow standard PPE protocols, coordinate with site supervisors on access, and stay clear of active work. Drone liability insurance with additional insured certificates is available on request for builder policies that require it.
  • Q: What’s the difference between a builder reel and a real estate walkthrough video?
    • A walkthrough video shows a finished home to a prospective buyer, room by room, focused on the space. A builder reel showcases your company and craftsmanship. It might combine progress footage, finished detail shots, drone work, and multiple projects into one piece designed for your marketing.
  • Q: Can I use the progress photos for my own marketing in real time?
    • Yes. You get full usage rights for all images and video on delivery. Post on social, use it on your website, send it to clients. It’s yours to use however you want.
  • Q: Do you do time-lapse?
    • Yes, but true long-form time-lapse requires either a mounted fixed camera on-site for the duration of the build or a planned set of consistent visits over months. I quote time-lapse separately based on project length and capture method.
  • Q: My site is near the airport. Can you still fly?
    • Most likely yes. I can receive LAANC authorization for the controlled airspace around Charlotte Douglas, which covers most of Mecklenburg County. Some restricted zones require a manual FAA waiver and additional lead time. I’ll flag this at booking if it applies to your site.
  • Q: Do you work with builders outside Mecklenburg County?
    • Yes.
  • Q: Can you shoot finished home photography that’s ready for our agent’s MLS upload?
    • Absolutely. Finished home photography is delivered in MLS-ready format alongside high-resolution marketing files. Many builders share the listing-ready set directly with the selling agent.
